OSBGS Members Letter (April 2013)

 

Dear All

I thought that as we now approaching the golfing season I would write to update you on society activity and give you details of the 2013 Critchley Cup.

2012 has been another good year for the society with a number of new members getting involved in the various competitions & events. Both Adam McNicolas & David Clarke, who left school in 2011, represented the teams at the Queen Elizabeth & the Halford Hewitt respectively and David Schindler made his OSB debut coming to the rescue at the 11th hour to play in the Grafton Morrish Finals in October. It was also great to see 2011 leavers Josh Oldham, Simon Graham, Dan Jones & Ethan Spedding  at the Critchley Cup, along with older debutants, Chris Stewart and Mark Pearson. We hope you enjoyed getting involved and look forward to seeing you all again in 2013.

The 2013 Critchley Cup will take place at Seascale Golf Club in Cumbria on Saturday 21st of September (Old St Beghians Day). Coffee and bacon sandwiches will be served from 1030am, with the first tee time being reserved from 1130am. The cost of the day is £30. The prize presentation will take place immediately after the conclusion of play and food will also be available.

Members may interested to know that at 7.30pm that evening the School is hosting a “Black Tie Dinner with Stuart Lancaster”. Tickets for the evening are priced at £75 each (£40 for those leaving School between 2006 and the present day). Tickets go on sale on 3rd May 2013. Seating is arranged in tables of 10. Can I therefore ask that if you are interested in attending the Critchley Cup and/or the dinner you initially come back to me by Tuesday 30th April.
